bokens the ones with leather and bamboo are shinai i would go with bokens because they are pretty solid and have more variety if you go to centurys website they have both they and range from $11.99-$29.99 i have a bokken from there and i love it =op and the way to not sustain serious injury is not to use full force on your friends...duh lol =op
