As a rule people have worn suits to interviews or even when simply stopping in on a business to request a job. The suit is the ultimate piece of clothing in the world of business and absolutely nothing outshines it. However, lately folks have taken to wearing shirts with their resume printed on it. Many people have said that the resume shirt helps people advertise themselves at all times without saying a word.
Many people feel that this makes them seem inventive an innovative. I have the reverse opinion of the resume shirt. It appears to me that a person comes off both desperate and unprofessional. If you would like to stand out from the masses, why not simply dress better than everybody else? In today's world it is not very difficult to dress better than your rivals. Most folks do not even know how to put on mens suits properly. In this write-up I'll offer up a few tips to dressing to win a job.
First of all, you must get your measurements. You can't purchase a suit properly if you do not know your size. Wearing a properly fitting suit is important to making a great impression. You will be able to get measured at any tailor's store or suit store.
Next, you should look into acquiring a traditional suit color. Some traditional colors are navy blue and charcoal gray. Pinstripe and solid models are both quite appropriate. Once you have your suit, you can look into getting a white shirt to wear. You can get either get button down collars or ones without buttons. My personal preference is the collar that does not button down. If you are fit, then feel free to get a fitted shirt. Don't deviate from the white shirt until you have gotten the job; you may be able to wear other colors once you've been hired.
Finally, you'll need to get a nice pair of shoes and a belt. Black is the best way to go for interviews. Black belts and matching shoes are best. Make sure that the tips are solid and very conservative. You can shine them up or simply leave them black. Just don't shine them if you don't intend on doing it correctly.
