Frequently Asked Questions...
In karate when sparring and in tournaments do you use a chest protector?
Like the ones for TKD? Or do you find it to hard to move with? I've been thinking of getting one but no one at my dojo uses one so they cant really give any advice.
Answer:
We don't use ant protection in my dojo. And when we went to the tournament in Japan they didn't use chest protection either. However in Japan they did use padded hand gear and face and head protection. I see nothing wrong with wearing protection we just don't don't. Our sparring is with bare hands and no protection. Does create a few bruises and bumps.
