Hand Wraps The Most Essential Item In Our Gear Bag
"It doesn't take too long to figure out that in Muay Thai, MMA and boxing your hands can take a beating during training. And so hand wraps become one of the most , if not THE most essential item in our gear bag. yet we often take hand wraps for granted and buy any wrap, thinking that all wraps are created equal. Well, this is not the case. All wraps are NOT created equal, and there are plenty of brands out there that continue to make inferior wraps that can jeopardize your training and possibly your career. Maybe these gear companies aren't run by people who actually train and fight themselves or maybe they know that there are plenty of new people getting into combat sports everyday that don't know any better but to buy the standard wrap on the market. Somchai wraps for your information are not your standard wraps.
Somchai wraps are based off observations of Thailand's Muay Thai camps, from the most poverty stricken rural camp that literally uses torn bed sheets to the wealthiest most influential camps in Bangkok. Nak Muays (Muay Thai fighters) know the importance of wrapping their hands and so we have taken their input and created the best wraps on the market.
Now, we haven't reinvented the wheel but we have made a few simple changes to an essential training item in every fighters bag. Keeping things traditional by using a thin layer (no thick, cumbersome wraps) of 100% cotton that molds to you hand. Our wraps are 210 inches instead of the standard 180 inches, giving you 3 ? more feet of wrap to secure your hands with no extra bulk. Your hands will be wrapped to fight night standards every night with our wraps.
Another simple change we've made is adding an extra Velcro strap at the END of the wrap. This way you can wrap your hands in reverse, similar to your hands being wrapped by gauze before a fight. If you have ever noticed, this is a very common way for wraps to be wrapped in the camps of Thailand. If you still don't understand what I mean, here's a video.

So what we have done is simply added a small Velcro attachment at the end so that you can store and transport the wrap the way you want to wrap it without having to waste time rolling it backwards. For those who still wrap their hands the other way, just keep doing what your doing. Just unroll the wrap when you get it and wrap it back up the way you normally do.
We have gotten a great response to these wraps. True-Bee Gym in North Western Thailand exclusively uses Somchai wraps for every training session, going as far as getting rid of all the other brands because they didn't compare.
